Megan Yu, BA is an editor of the JNV. She majored in Chemistry at the University of Virginia, and is currently a first-year medical student at the University of Queensland/Ochsner Clinical School. Having watched how other physician-writers used the art of writing to inform patient care in their medical practice, she is determined to follow their footsteps and use writing as a tool to reflect on her clinical experiences as she pursues ophthalmology in the future. She also has a strong interest in bioethics, and has published two pieces on expanding universal eye care coverage after VISION 2020 and the ethical issues associated with advertising and physicians’ disclosure of risks associated with LASIK surgery at Columbia’s Voices in Bioethics Journal. Megan hopes to continue developing these interests as she specializes in ophthalmology in the future.
